Workshop Facilitators: Student National Medical Association

In this workshop, we will explore the health equity implications of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in advocacy. This will serve as an examination and discussion of the consequences facing black, Latinx, white, and Asian communities. In this session, participants will learn how to create positive change through public policy while becoming familiarized with the concept of advocacy and health equity. This workshop was created by Student National Medical Association (SNMA) at the UCF College of Medicine and will be led by Gregorie Constant-Peter MD, FAAFP, Assistant Medical Director at Correctional Health Services Orlando, Florida. Through this field she sees the societal need for improved mental health access, health equity education, and human’s right advocacy. Dr. Constant-Peter is a Family Medicine & Women’s Health physician. She earned her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, Dominica and completed a Family Medicine residency at Robert Wood Johnson, New Brunswick, NJ.  She is currently a Faculty-in-Training-Academy on Communication in Healthcare and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at the UCF College of Medicine in Lake Nona Orlando, Florida.
